💖 A Cozy Love Letter to Pokémon & Candles

I’ve been a Pokémon fan since the moment I picked my first starter — and let’s just say, that love has only evolved from there 💗 Whether it was collecting cards, playing the games nonstop, or obsessing over which type was my favorite, the world of Pokémon has always been a source of inspiration.

So when it came time to create a candle collection that was both nostalgic and deeply personal, I knew I wanted to honor one of the most iconic parts of the series: the Eeveelutions. Elemental, expressive, and totally aesthetic? Yes please.

This collection has been a long time in the making. Months of scent testing, crystal matching, and label planning — and I’m so excited to finally share a peek behind the scenes with you. 🕯️✨

🐾 The Concept: One Candle for Every Eeveelution

From fiery Flareon to elegant Espeon, each of the nine candles in this collection was inspired by an Eeveelution and its elemental type. I wanted every candle to feel like a true reflection of its Pokémon — not just in scent, but in color, crystal, and overall vibe.

That meant designing:

  • A warm, spicy blend for Flareon

  • A bold, electric fizz for Jolteon

  • A soft, dreamy scent for Sylveon

  • And everything in between, from icy calm to deep, shadowy elegance

It was a challenge (to say the least) to create nine different candles that each stood out on their own, while still feeling like they belonged together as a full elemental set. But honestly? That challenge made it even more rewarding in the end.

And even though we couldn’t name them after the Pokémon directly on product listings (👀), you better believe they were called by name during every step of the studio process.

🧼 The Process: So Many Swaps, So Many Stones

This collection pushed me in all the best ways. Creatively and emotionally 😂 I went back and forth so many times on scent choices, especially for the fire and psychic types. Some candles were easy: the scent came together right away and just fit. Others? Not so much. I changed my mind mid-pour more than once and scrapped a few combos entirely before landing on the final lineup.

When it came to the crystal pairings, I wanted to do more than just pick colors that matched. I tried to tie each main crystal to the evolution stone associated with its Pokémon — like using bold, warm-toned stones as a  nod to the Fire Stone, or smooth blues and aquas for the Water Stone. It was kind of like finding the perfect partner for each type, and I loved the challenge.

Balancing it all — the scent throw, the color palette, the glitter swirl, and how the crystal would look once the wax cured — took a lot of testing. But watching it all come together piece by piece was so worth it 🕯️💫

🪷 Some of My Favorite Details

When I first dreamed up this collection, I was sure Flareon’s candle — Fire Blitz — would end up being my favorite. I mean... spicy, warm, and a bold mix of red, orange and yellow stones? That felt like an automatic win 🔥

But now that they’re all made and poured? Let’s just say... I might have a surprise favorite 👀 I’ve loved decorating Grass-Blade more than I expected. There’s something so peaceful about that fresh green tea and bamboo blend and beautiful brown tones of their crystals. It’s like lighting a tiny forest in my room 🌿💨

One of the crystals I absolutely loved working with was the raw Chrysoprase. I had never even heard of it before this project, but the soft minty-green tones and natural texture were so pretty and unexpectedly perfect for the vibe I wanted Leafeon's candle to have. Total crystal crush 💚

Of course, no collection is complete without a little behind-the-scenes chaos. At one point I accidentally knocked over an entire tray of amethyst chips and spent forever picking them out of every corner of the studio 😭✨ (They’re lucky they’re pretty.)

🌟 What’s Next?

I’m really hoping this collection becomes a permanent part of the MinnyWicks/MinnyMelts lineup since it’s something I’ve poured so much love (and wax... and glitter...) into 💖 But as with all new things, we’ll see how it goes! If these elemental cuties find their perfect homes, they just might stick around 🐾

I’m also already working on the next big collection: a crystal candle line inspired by fan-favorite summons from Final Fantasy ✨ Think bold, powerful energies and even more stunning stones. I can’t wait to share more once the first few are ready to test!
