☕ A Day in the Studio: Winter Edition

It’s quiet outside, but inside the MinnyWicks studio? It’s warm, cozy and busy. 🕯️

January is when I slow down just enough to reorganize, reset, and start dreaming up the next wave of candle magic for the new year.

❄️ Morning Warm-Up

Mornings are filled with looking over orders, reorganizing and coffee while the pellet stove warms up the house. This is also when I restock my Retail Therapy bins swapping in fresh scents, straightening labels, and sneaking in a few seasonal updates for my display on the weekends. 🌷

It’s easy to fall behind when Winter rolls around, so starting off with a busy morning is my secret.

Midday Candle Chaos

By midday, the studio is warm and it’s time for some candle magic. 🌸 Making 6, 8 or 4oz  candles, trays of fresh wax melts lined up nearby (each sparkling with glitter and mica). Music or any favorite YouTuber on in the background while I label, check wicks, and test new scent combos for spring.

Afternoon Reset & Ideas

After cleanup, I usually cozy up at my desk with a planner and my current anime this is my “quiet hour.” I review what scents are gonna work, create new packaging ideas, and plan upcoming event displays (like the Nom Nom Noodle Festival 🍜!). 

✨ Ending the Day

Closing up for the night is always pretty cathartic for me. I love the feeling of being able to finally change into my comfy clothes, settling in with my fluffy blankets and continuing my current Webtoon series. Even on the busiest days, I never forget how lucky I am to create something that brings warmth, sparkle, and scent into your homes 💖
